The SUPERlative Olympics! - Superlative Adjective Game
Teams of students compete in various superlative competitions to claim the #1 spot! Download this language game as a fun way for your students to practice using superlative sentences!
Uses:
- Can be used as a speaking game to practice giving basic directions (go straight, turn left, and turn right)
- Great for ESL/EFL, but can be used for any foreign/second language learning as all text is editable
How it works:
- Split your students into teams (I recommend at least three). How many students on each team is up to you depending on your class size.
- In each round/event, you will first show the class a superlative adjective.
- Without knowing what the competition related to that superlative adjective is, each team sends up one student/representative to the front of the classroom.
- Once all teams have a student at the front, you will reveal and explain their competition, which they will proceed to do.
- The team who comes in 3rd place gets 1 point, 2nd place, 2 points, and 1st place, 3 points. The winner also has to say a superlative sentence of victory (ex. "I am the fastest!")
- The team with the most points at the end of the game wins!
