Celebrate the end of the school year with a fun, MASH-style game where students predict and write a silly story about what next school year will be like.
Great For:
- ESL and EFL classrooms
- Practicing future simple tense and descriptive writing
- Creative speaking, reading, and storytelling activities
- A low-prep, time-filling activity for the end of the year
How it works:
Part 1: MASH Game
- Students fill in four answers under each category (real or funny answers encouraged!)
- They draw a spiral to generate their magic number
- Using that number, they count around the categories, crossing off options until one remains in each
- Their final circled answers reveal their predictions for the next school year
Part 2: Writing & Drawing Activity
- Students write a story about next school year using their MASH results
- They can also draw a picture in the space provided if they finish early
- If time allows, students share their stories with the class for extra fun and laughs
What's Included:
- Game worksheet in both color and black-and-white
- Worksheet versions also include a fill-in-the-blank writing paragraph for lower level students or free writing paragraph lines for higher level students
- Detailed, step-by-step instruction PowerPoint for student guidance
