How to Play

• Students play in groups of three, and each group is given a worksheet.
• In their groups, each member has a role: the Vocalist, the Visual, and the Rapper.
• When a round starts, the Visual and Rapper put their heads down and close their eyes.
• The teacher will play a clip from a song. It’s the Vocalist’s job to figure out the “stolen”/missing vocabulary word in the song based on the lyrics typed out on the slide.
• The Visual and Rapper then “wake up,” and the Vocalist tells them the word they think is missing.
• Then, it’s the Visual’s job to identify the demon that “stole” the word by matching the Vocalist’s word to a picture on the worksheet.
• At the same time, the Rapper’s job is to complete a fill-in-the-blank sentence using the Vocalist’s word on the other side of the worksheet.
• Once all groups are finished, the teacher checks the answers, the rappers “rap”/read the correct sentence together, and groups who got both parts of the worksheet correct for the round get a point.
• Then, everyone changes roles within their groups and a new round begins.
• Groups that get 10 or more points at the end of the game “complete the Golden Honmoon” and win the game!

Variations

• The game originally comes with twelve rounds meant for twelve words, but if you would like a shorter version, I have included a 9-word version of the worksheet as well. All you have to do is delete the last 3 rounds of the game and adjust the total points accordingly.
• You can also play this game with a single student. Just have them do all three roles.
