Game Features
- Imagery based on the Exploding Kittens card game
- Fun sound effects
- Dynamic scoring system
How to Play
- A student/team chooses a letter and answers the question or completes the task on the corresponding slide.
- If they get it correct, the teacher will take them to a reward page where they will play a card game for points.
- The teacher will show them a card with a certain point value.
- The student/team decides whether to take the points on the card or draw again to possibly add more points to the current value.
- The teacher repeats this process until they either decide to take their accumulated points or reach a bomb card in which case they get 0 points and their turn is over.
- Students can also find rare cards where they have a choice: They can either get 5 points or take a chance and reveal the card, from which they will either lose all their points or get to change points with another team.
- The student/team with the most points at the end of the game wins!
- Further instructions on how to play and edit the game can be found in the notes section of each slide.

BEST REVIEW GAME EVER for my middle school students. They went crazy over it! We had so many games where the bell rang and a nuclear card was pulled!! The students just had great energy towards it and I feel that if you are someone who teaches middle school, you MUST try this game! - Mackenzie

All my students absolutely love this game (3-6 elementary)! I even got my first ever game request last class from the 4th graders who wanted to play "the card game" again. I passed out a "how you like to learn/which games you want to play" survey for my afterschool classes and "Exploding kittens" showed up quite a bit. Thank you Tayler! - Elani

Nothing quite like watching 3 middle-school first graders chant "open it" while the other team member is dying eight deaths because they don't want to find the bomb lol. Thanks for the game! All my students love it! - Heidi

Played this with standard 10th grade students reviewing elements of fiction. It was an absolute riot. No candy or any other reward needed. The gameplay and points were enough! Things got heated really quickly! I had a student remark that this was the most fun he'd ever had in any class and thanked me for letting them do it. Great work and I so appreciate what you've done here for us! - Krysta
-
My 5th grade students absolutely adore this game. Each day I come into class and they ask for "boom cat" I typically play it with 4-6th elementary students and they all have a blast gambling their luck with the cards! Thank you for such an amazing game! - Bri

Used this as a 5th grade review game. The students were divided into groups and had a small whiteboard with a marker. Each team took turns picking a letter to get the question. All teams wrote the answer to get 2 points. The team that got to pick the letter were the ones to play the card game. After the card game, that was the amount of points they would receive for that round. (Team 1 who picked the letter- 8pts, Team 2- 2 pts, Team 3- 2pts, etc.) The team with the most points wins! - Anon

Used this for a semester review for my 3rd graders in Japan and they did love it, although 1 student started crying (possibly from losing points but I'm not sure). I highly recommend! I might want to change the bomb/nuclear aspects to be more age appropriate/less violent though. - Anon

This is THE BEST GAME for my middle school students. Even though we weren't able to finish it fully, we were able to finish most of the game. Any time the nuclear card was pulled, students went WILD and I loved the energy they were putting forth. I highly recommend this game for any review!!!! 10/10 - Anon
