Ready-to-play Halloween editions of Jeopardy, Class Feud, Classroom Squares, and Wheel of Fortune made for kids of all ages! They're perfect for spooky and fun classroom activities leading up to Halloween as well as great for practicing English skills or general knowledge of the holiday.
Jeopardy Instructions:
- Students can play individually, in pairs, or in teams.
- One individual/pair/team chooses a category and dollar amount that then leads to a question/prompt.
- The individual/pair/team that answers correctly the fastest gets the money! (I have also played where any team who answers correctly gets the money or only the team who chooses the question gets to answer for the chance at winning the money. How you play is up to you and what works best for your class.)
- The individual/pair/team with the most money at the end of the game wins!
Wheel of Fortune Instructions:
- Students can play individually, in pairs, or in teams.
- Their goal is to solve the word, phrase, or sentence in the puzzle.
- First, one student/pair/team spins the wheel to receive a point number.
- Then, that student/pair/team guesses a letter in the alphabet they think is in the word/phrase/sentence.
- If the letter they guess is in the puzzle, they get points based on the number they spun on the wheel multiplied by how many of that letter is in the puzzle. They keep those points for the round (unless they spin “Lose Your Points’ on the wheel).
- After a student/pair/team guesses a letter, they can choose to then solve the puzzle if they think they know the answer or pass to the next student/pair/team.
- If they pass, the next student/pair/team does the same sequence: spin the wheel, guess a letter, get points, solve or pass.
- If a student/pair/or team solves the puzzle correctly, they get to double the points they’ve accumulated in that puzzle round and add it to their overall game score on slide 9.
- The other students/pairs/teams get to add the points they’ve accumulated in the round to their overall game score as well (but feel free to change this rule as you see fit).
- The student/pair/team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner!
Class Feud Instructions:
- Play with up to 6 students/pairs/teams. When the game starts two teams will face off head-to-head.
- First, one member from each team will stand up. The teacher will read the question on the gameboard.
- The two students will try to guess the most popular answer to the question.
- Whoever's answer has more points gets to play the board with their team.
- Their team's goal is to guess all the answers on the board for points.
- If an answer is not on the board, they will get a strike.
- If their team gets three strikes, the other team gets to try to answer. However, they only get one chance to guess an answer.
- If their answer is on the board, that team steals all the points for that board.
- If their answer is not on the board, the original team gets all the points.
- The team with the most points at the end of the game wins!
Classroom Squares Instructions:
- Divide your class into two teams, Team X and Team O.
- One team picks a celebrity in a "square." (I know they're technically rectangles, but "Classroom Rectangles" didn't have the pizzazz.)
- The celebrity will answer a question.
- That team must agree or disagree with the answer the celebrity has given.
- If the team is correct, they will get the square. If the team is wrong, their opponent will get the square.
- Then, the other team goes.
- To win the round, one team either gets three in a row (across, vertical or diagonal) or has 5 squares.
- The team with the most round wins at the end of the game wins!
