☆ Created by The Cross-Cultural Classroom ☆
A ready-to-play Halloween edition of the classic game students love. Plus, it's revamped and streamlined for easy classroom use.
Uses:
- Perfect for a spooky and fun classroom activity leading up to Halloween.
- Practice spelling, vocabulary, and critical thinking with Halloween-themed words and phrases!
- Made for kids of all ages.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: The wheel animation may not work if using the PowerPoint 2016 version or older.
How It Works:
- Students can play individually, in pairs, or in teams.
- Their goal is to solve the word, phrase, or sentence in the puzzle.
- First, one student/pair/team spins the wheel to receive a point number.
- Then, that student/pair/team guesses a letter in the alphabet they think is in the word/phrase/sentence.
- If the letter they guess is in the puzzle, they get points based on the number they spun on the wheel multiplied by how many of that letter is in the puzzle. They keep those points for the round (unless they spin “Lose Your Points’ on the wheel).
- After a student/pair/team guesses a letter, they can choose to then solve the puzzle if they think they know the answer or pass to the next student/pair/team.
- If they pass, the next student/pair/team does the same sequence: spin the wheel, guess a letter, get points, solve or pass.
- If a student/pair/or team solves the puzzle correctly, they get to double the points they’ve accumulated in that puzzle round and add it to their overall game score on slide 9.
- The other students/pairs/teams get to add the points they’ve accumulated in the round to their overall game score as well (but feel free to change this rule as you see fit).
- The student/pair/team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner!
